And time to update your <a href=\"https:\/\/marketinginsidergroup.com\/content-marketing\/b2b-linkedin-marketing-strategy\/\">LinkedIn Marketing Strategy<\/a>!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Users in a handful of countries already have access to LinkedIn Stories. Don\u2019t worry, they\u2019ll hit the rest of LinkedIn\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/about.linkedin.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">706+ million users<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in 200 countries soon enough.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Say what you will, but Stories can thrust your content to the top of every follower\u2019s newsfeed \u2013 that\u2019s valuable real estate.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>Quick Takeaways:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LinkedIn Stories allows users and brand pages to share images and short videos of their professional moments.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stories can boost your content somewhere you know people will see it and help you build relationships with followers.<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the right strategy, LinkedIn Stories can be an awesome tool for engaging and tracking your most loyal audience.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What are LinkedIn Stories and How Do They Work?<\/h2>\n<p>A few weeks ago, I received an email from my good friend James Tennant from Converge that looks at trending keywords and phrases, as well as related questions and propositions from a range of B2B topics.\u00a0 It identified &#8220;LinkedIn Stories&#8221; as an important search trend for us in marketing.<\/p>\n<p>So I did some research to share my findings with you. (By the way, I recommend signing up for his <a href=\"https:\/\/promos.converge.today\/newsletter\">Converge &#8216;TrendingUp&#8217; keyword insights email newsletter<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LinkedIn first launched a Stories feature back in 2018 called <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2018\/11\/20\/linkedin-stories\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Student Voices<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. With LinkedIn Stories, you can share static images and 20-second videos of your \u201ceveryday professional moments.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s coming back in the form of general stories.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stories are only available to LinkedIn users and pages in the UAE, France, Australia, Brazil, and the Netherlands right now. Expect LinkedIn to roll them out on a wider scale after a few months of testing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like other platforms, you\u2019ll find Stories displayed in bubbles across the top of the app feed. Each Story displays for 24 hours before vanishing. LinkedIn\u2019s Stories offer the same features you\u2019ve come to expect like tagging, replying, stickers, text, and more:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-655058 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/marketinginsidergroup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/linkedin-stories-1-1024x894.jpg\"  alt=\"Linkedin Stories 1 1024x894\" width=\"604\" height=\"527\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you share a Story, any connection or follower can see <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> share it. LinkedIn lets you access your Story\u2019s Insights for the 24 hours it\u2019s available. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These insights<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Reach \u2013<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> measured as the total number of unique viewers<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Firmographics \u2013<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> such as name, job title, and company <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">if <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">their privacy settings allow it<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can also download your own Stories (during the 24-hour window). Save your greatest hits \u2013 or all your Stories \u2013 and track the insights to look for patterns.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Switching to Real-Time Communication with LinkedIn Stories<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I can hear you now saying, \u201cUgh, Stories on LinkedIn too?\u201d There are two types of social media users:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People who post to their Story daily, sometimes several times a day<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People who post memes about how they\u2019d only watch a Story accidentally<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some people have warmed up to Stories over time though. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/later.com\/blog\/instagram-influencer-marketing-report\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Research shows<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Instagram influencers post to their feeds less often these days than they have in the past:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-655059 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/marketinginsidergroup.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/feed-post-1024x708.jpg\"  alt=\"Feed Post 1024x708\" width=\"604\" height=\"418\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/marketinginsidergroup.com\/marketing-strategy\/2020-marketing-trends-you-need-to-know\/\">We\u2019re all spending more time online<\/a> than we have in the past. Even though we can\u2019t travel freely to meet people or attend events, we still crave real-time human connections.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LinkedIn released Stories at the perfect time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2020\/05\/12\/twitter-says-staff-can-continue-working-from-home-permanently\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Twitter<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> staff<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, for example, is working from home permanently now and they\u2019re far from the only one. Stories let us connect digitally when we can\u2019t physically and help us build relationships with our followers.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>The Dos and Don\u2019ts of LinkedIn Stories<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Start your Stories strategy from a growth mindset. Stories aren\u2019t just a way to connect, they\u2019re a powerful tool for encouraging engagement, learning about your audience, and growing business.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do Spend Some Time Developing a Strategy<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Think of how short bites of content best fit into your brand\u2019s broader content marketing strategy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What types of topics and media would your audience enjoy? Should you create fresh content just for Stories, or repurpose content from other platforms?<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Don\u2019t Invest Too Much Time Perfecting Every Story<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Remember, Stories are only available for 24 hours once you post them. It\u2019s tempting to get distracted for too long adjusting all the stickers and text but be honest, it\u2019s not worth the effort.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plus, Stories that look too structured and planned kind of miss the mark. Instagram and Facebook Stories are meant to feel spontaneous so try to keep the same in-the-moment mentality.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do Relate to Followers Through LinkedIn Stories<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People want genuine connections from brands \u2013 even on LinkedIn. Let your personality shine a bit and open yourself up. Look a little deeper and you\u2019ll see how Stories can let <a href=\"https:\/\/marketinginsidergroup.com\/marketing-strategy\/95-of-linkedin-profiles-content-and-messaging-are-irrelevant-sales-needs-more-enablement-from-marketing\/\">B2B Marketers connect<\/a> on a more personal and deeper level.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1. Not good. Use LinkedIn Stories to Learn About Your Audience<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If LinkedIn follows the path of Instagram and Facebook, they\u2019ll incorporate features like text fields, polls, and sliding scales to engage audiences. Use Stories to gain a deeper understanding of your audience \u2013 especially your most loyal followers.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">7. Promote Other Content Marketing Assets<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">People browse social media when they want to consume. You can\u2019t fit a ton of content inside each Story but you <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">can <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">use Stories to promote other <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/marketinginsidergroup.com\/content-marketing\/10-best-infographics-inspire-content-marketing\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pieces of content<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Take a screenshot of your latest podcast playing on Spotify or the thumbnail of a new YouTube video. Add some copy to dress it up and tap Share.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">8.
